Dwight Muhammad Qawi is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1978 to 1998. Dwight Muhammed Qawi changed his name to Dwight Braxton after winning the WBC Light Heavyweight Title in December of 1981. He grew up on the streets in Camden, NJ. He overcame his addiction to drugs and alcohol in 1998. "This was one fight where I had to surrender in order to win," he said. "I believe God led me to my recovery. He made me realize I didn't have to have a million to feel like a million."
